Artificial intelligence, advanced semiconductors, cybersecurity and autonomous systems are increasingly blurring the boundaries between commercial innovation and national security.
For investors, this raises a growing challenge: exposure to defence-related activities may extend well beyond traditional defence companies, through businesses developing technologies with both civilian and military applications. What does this mean for fiduciary duty, stewardship and investor responsibility?
We’ll explore these questions with: Estelle Parker - Co-CEO, Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) Anna-Stina Wiklund - Defence and Stewardship Programme Lead, Global Advisory Alliance & Flora Advisory Ltd Jillian Reid - Head of Sustainable Investment (Investment Management) Pacific, Mercer Christine Chow, PhD - Global investment leader; former Managing Director, UBS Asset Management; former Chair, International Corporate Governance Network Yumi Fujita - Senior Engagement Specialist, Sustainable Investing, Robeco The investor briefing is moderated by Dominic Webb, Senior Reporter at Responsible Investor. We are also grateful to JSIF Japan Sustainable Investment Forum for sharing the invitation with its members.
If you work in investment, stewardship, governance, or sustainability across Asia-Pacific, or are considering how dual-use technologies are reshaping investor responsibilities, we’d be delighted to have you join the discussion.
